| With an increasingly growing opposition movement inside the island of Cuba, the Cuban exile community has made extensive efforts to acquire the international support of individuals and countries throughout the world. In 2007, the three main events that culminated the meeting and newly gathered support were with the leaders of Hungary, Poland, and El Salvador.
Although unbeknownst to the international community, it is imperative to continue gaining support for the pro-democracy movement in Cuba in order to allow for a peaceful transition towards democracy on the island.
